about me
You'll see that I say "Recipes are guiedlines. Make them your own" a lot. But this is so critical for your success in the kitchen! Don't follow a recipe exactly as it says. Experiement. Don't use measuring spoons, add different seasonings, improvize. This builds confidence and creates your own family recipe :)
Jackie Hawkins
I'm a wife, a mom of three kids and two dogs, a full time corporate employee, a sporadic and untimely OCD cleaning nut, and a food obsessor.

I love grocery shopping but sometimes I am too tired, too broke, too lazy, too busy, too pregnant or I just want to get all the random crap out of my fridge and pantry. When I'm not in a "love to grocery shop" mood, that's when I have to get creative with what I have on hand. If it was just me I was cooking for, I'd be fine. I'd eat pasta for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. But alas, I have three hungry kids and a picky husband to feed. Through lots of practice and trial and error, I have learned to successfully Betty Crocker the shit out of my life. I have a clean house (most of the time), fed children (all the time), a happy husband (well, that could be up for debate some days :) ), and a fulfilled purpose. If I can help just one of you to Betty Crocker your life, then my work here is a success. So sit back, get to reading my recipes, and get to cookin!
